I will agree with you on the AH kind of limiting the game if you aren't finding the items. It probably does seem like a need to buy gear for some people.
Now, I myself have made a ridiculous amount of cash from this game. My Barb has 264MF Unbuffed and can clear act 3-4 Inferno. My Wizard has 190MF Unbuffed and can clear act 3 and most packs in act 4, but act 4 is worthless to farm anyway. With these MF bonuses I get 3-6 rares per elite pack killed with 5 Stack NV. The chances to random something great go up significantly with higher MF. Yes, this gear has cost me MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of gold and even some RL money to purchase with the correct stats but it has been more than worth it, as I have made many times what I have spent.
I have also made millions of gold and RL money with the Exalted Grand Plans, this is the easiest way to grow your character if you have a tough time finding gear. Buying the one piece of gear for 15 million is just going to leave you marginally better and in the hole yet again. Buying a plan for 15 million will not only make you your money back and then some, you can roll some pretty excellent upgrades for all your characters.
I have killed Diablo in Inferno with my Wizard(Melee), DH(Glass Cannon), Barb(EQ/WOTB), and my Monk(Sword/Board/High LOH). I have not made a WD because they seem entirely too underpowered compared to the other offerings at this point.
This game is getting boring, but I am making money so I really don't care about the tediousness of the grind. I have become very good at dealing with all types of packs in act 3, which I clear multiple times daily. Blizzard has admitted to the lack of endgame, but said they won't be looking into it until after 1.1(The PvP patch), which kind of makes me sad.

Whats funny is that I too played until the RMAH came out and I too bought part of an outfit and then quit. I haven't played since and really lost my desire to play for now. I will still play D2 as I will always play it. Its still the best game ever made and maybe D3 will get some updates and expansions that turn it around but it seems like I've played it for a decade like I did D2 already. The idea that going through new dungeons with different monster isn't even in it. Sometimes the maps are a little different but not like the concept was told. I read everything about it for a couple years dreaming of this game and drove 100 miles to get the CE but.....its not Diablo 2 thats for sure. Good luck with your site and I still subscribe and someday would like to add content if I find a game I like.

Yeah i had a great time at first but i kinda waned off it also, it really isnt very entertaining anymore to me. You can call me not a true fan blah blah blah but the truth is that this guy is a market for blizzard, and personally i think a scam and just one more way to make blizzard money. Because personally i am going back to WoW and so not only did i spend money on diablo i now spend money on WoW. Blizzard wins

My breaking point was 200+ hours of game play in inferno as barb and not a single drop was worthwhile, AH able or even wearable. I cannot believe that all the gear my barb was using was bought from another player. This is not a fun mechanic for me. If i were able to find me an item that was actually usable once every few hours then yes... I'd have fun but just as you said Force... The content is just not an everyday fun factor anymore.
Ill return when PVP is released to test it out and that will make or break me ever playing it again on a regular basis

Hey, Force. Can you try Path of Exile? Tell us what you think? I recently have been playing it and find it to be everything I expected Diablo 3 to be upon announcement. Also, Thanks for the video on Smite. I play it too and it's nice to see beta games tested by you.

Bummer. Appreciate the time and effort. I'm not digging my barb on inferno either but I'm in the process of getting all the other classes to 60 and inferno. I may enjoy it more with classes that I can kite easier. If i don't enjoy them on inferno then I have already decided to calm down my diablo playing as well. Peace.

Thx Force for all the casts you did. I have to agree with you.
I too actually started playing some sc2 some more and right now was searching for some recent commentaries to watch.
would love to see some more sc2 commentaries from you, especially covering some championships.
Good luck!

- I fully understand you, mate. Completely! I've actually crossed that same line even earlier than you: after few minutes I was playing in Nightmare, that was it for me, no reason for continuing. But then I gave a try playing Hardcore mode (never played HC in D2) and a totally new reality opened up to me! It's fun, extremely exciting and attention-captivating....you gotta try. Now the goal is not the grinding for gear anymore...who cares: sooner or later you gonna die, anyway; no, now the goal is to surpass and do better than your previous HC charater. Final goal: kill Diablo in Inferno, of course! That's been a revelation, at least for me, and now every minute spent playing is full of suspance, excitement...a trifle of fear even! You gonna either hate it or love it. But be careful: if you are gonna love it the probability you gonna get addicted to it is extremely high! =P

Well steam summer sale is coming up soon. So you'll get a bunch of new games to play.
If you want to do a few more diablo 3 vids you can always do some no armor runs on hardcore. or something really weird.

Only thing that keep people still playing is RMAH and making money.
Personally, only reason I play is because here and there I make 30/50 euros, sometimes even more. When the game gets to a point when you can't sell anything anymore, I ll quit as well.
It's kinda sad that game we anticipated over a decade sucked balls so much.

FORCE FOR PREMIER! eh? I think everyone is on the same boat as you, both my brother and I are having trouble farming act II, and you almost HAVE to be in the AH... Looking forward to future stuff!

Amen to all your points Force... This is how i have felt... My best friend and i who are friends because of Diablo 1 and 2 and our love of all things Blizzard both just decided this wasn't the same style game Blizz North made and maybe we grew up and things changed but this turned into an Auction Sim in the end and that was never what D2 was for me... even from the beginning it was tons of different specs and killing mass amounts of well COWS and Meph runs for days on end just to see that item that completed your set... I traded for very few items but had tons of mules filled with rares and uniques just in case i made a char for that...I never worried about the PERFECT spec and all that especially before synergies where added using Strafe Zons and Hydra sorcs and even STAFFFF Barbs and still having fun... D3 just didn't live up to that i didn't want a D2 remake exactly but i didn't want a game so focused on story it killed the rest.

I avoid the RMAH. It WILL kill the game in the long run. I strongly believe that there should be a "ladder" option that's PURE Diablo, no auction house...
But anyway, wait for XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

I completely agree with you. I'm quickly approaching that threshold as well. Act3 is completely a brick wall now for a lot of people. The Drops are not good enough to move forward in the next 3 months and to be honest it's pushing me away. Playing it less and less.
Thanks for all the content you've put out on D3, appreciate it :)
Looking forward to the next big thing and riding the hype wave with you (ok this is getting sleezy now lol)

Ok, so you were not having fun, but I can't see why you bring the rmah into the picture. In D2 we traded for gear, and as you said we bought gear for real money, and of course we hasd the free game gear drops. I respect your Decision however we are now seeing on the forums that this is the only reason you left the game. Actually I took it to be you did not enjoy the grind anymore regardless of the rmah.

Diablocast always helped make my friday night go better at work I started watching for the diablo content but I watch every video and will stay watching. Except SC stuff I hate watching rts lol I love playing sp rts games but am totally lost when it comes to online play... ty for this video explaining why the diablo content has stopped

I agree, and I just made it to Inferno. I don't think this is really Diablo at all... just a glorified "other" game with a creature named Diablo.
It's kind of crap and I am sorry I WASTED my money.
For the lame that think they're doing good selling items in the auction house... LOL, get a real job and become a productive member of society. That is NOT what Diablo should be about.
One should NOT be forced to use an auction house to find better gear just to enjoy the game.
Total twist, and a bad one.
Oh well, back to Black Ops, Forged Alliance, and Edain's mod (BFME II mod)
